Who Is MRD Foundation
MRD Foundation Inc. is a family run 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded by former NFL player Dwayne Wright. From his early days at West Hills College to the NFL, Dwayne experienced firsthand the difference that guidance, opportunity, and support can make.
MRD grew from that experience, providing youth from underserved communities with access to sports, academics, and college pathways, while nurturing the confidence, resilience, and skills they need to thrive. Rooted in family and community, every program reflects a belief in the potential of every young person and the impact of investing in their future.
Our Mission
To empower youth, with a specific focus on low-income families, to achieve their full potential by providing comprehensive and accessible support and opportunities in sports, academics, and college access, fostering their holistic development and paving the way for future success.
Our Vision
To cultivate a community where all young people, regardless of their socioeconomic status, have equitable access to the resources and support they need to excel in all facets of their lives, becoming confident, capable, and contributing members of society.
